What Was Supposed to be a “Key to a Murder” Book Review

So, who wants to hear something funny? Today, I was scheduled to review Key to a Murder by Vicki Vass. I sat down this week and read the book. I enjoyed it quite a bit and then sat down to write my review. That’s when I realized something wasn’t right. The synopsis posted on Amazon of the book didn’t sound much like the book I read. Then I went back and did some checking. Turns out that I had a copy of Killer Finds by Vicki Vass (an earlier book in the series) and not Key to a Murder (her new release).

<<Sigh>>  Have you ever had these days, or is it just me?

So today, I want to tell you that I really enjoyed Killer Finds. It is the third book in the Antique Hunters Mystery Series. The fourth book, Key to a Murder, was just released. The books follow Anne Hillstrom through her life as a blog writing antique dealer who just can’t seem to get things quite right.

As I was picturing the character in my head, she appeared a lot like I picture M.C. Beaton’s Agatha Raisin. So if you enjoy Agatha, Anne Hillstrom portrays that same quirky charm of someone who is always making silly decisions that get her into trouble, yet you can’t help root for her. I felt like a quote from the book where Anne was talking about her beloved antiques summed her character up pretty perfectly,

“I promise you that all lost needful things will find a good home.”

Anne in many ways is also one of those lost and needful things herself. And through the book it is clear that through good friendships and a little bit of luck, she is well on her way to finding a good “home.” Maybe in the next book right? You know, the one I was supposed to be reviewing today? This one was sure fun so I will be picking up a copy of Key to a Murder soon to find out what happens next in the series.

So who’s up for a Giveaway? Vicki is giving away a copy of Key to a Murder, so don’t forget to enter!

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
